A Rolling Boulder

Sorry I haven’t posted in a day or two.  Every time I wanted to it was too late and I was beat having worked since I got up.  Some days I think I end up pulling days far beyond the healthy range, but that’s just how it goes!  I’ve been moving 1000 miles an hour lately.  I’m almost done with a new website for the film THE POTENTIAL INSIDE which is currently in Post-Production.  Right now only a splash page is up.  That’s kept me busy the past 3 days, almost all week actually because of some major issues.  I gotta say if it’s one thing I struggle with the most, it’s my anger.  Sometimes the smallest things make me absolutely filled with rage.  It might be incompetence that angers me most I think.  When someone doesn’t know what they’re doing and in turn causes me grief.  It drives me crazy, especially when you’re trying to help someone and they persist.  I’m not very strong there, at all.  It’s something to pray through for sure, but I have years and years of it built up from some terrible experiences, so it’s tough to remedy.  Bit by bit it will be healed.

I posted a new newsletter about Standing Firm to the email list.  You can read it here, BUT I prefer you sign up on the Praise Pictures email list if you could so I can send it to your inbox.  Unfortunately only 35% of those on our email list even open our emails, and only 10% or so click on anything in it.  I’ve done a lot of research lately and I’ve found that’s pretty typical for lists of my size.  As my Twitter accounts have continued to explode, I’ve wondered how many in there actually see my posts.  It’s tough to know for sure how followers = $$$ but it takes time.  Just gotta be patient.  I’m going to continually market Praise Pictures, myself, and Standing Firm on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc. because I feel like even on my second film, social media is going to play a major role.

When I consider the fact that this film was like 95% marketed over the internet via my desk, it’s pretty amazing.  I don’t think I even thought that what I was doing was going to do much good until the film came out and I saw the results.  The film is doing extremely well, I’m shocked actually.  Until tonight, we were #1 on ChristianCinema.com…that’s like 11-12 days or so at that position, so I’m not complaining at all.  I’m happy to sit at #2 :) We’re finally ranked on Amazon somewhere, at #67 under “Religion.”  We’re in the Top 50 of ChristianBook.com DVD’s under “Movies” which I’m very pleased about.  Somehow this movie is making it’s way around.  I expected to see some movement, but not movement like this.  Seeing us in some of the top lists in some places makes me wonder, lol.  Just how effective was all this marketing?  How much of it is a result of the word of mouth and grassroots nature of things?  Is this just a nice spike to enjoy that’ll fizzle out quickly once my marketing reach is exhausted and everyone who was looking for their copy has it?  We’ll see.  It’s up to you, the fan now, to share it and help spread it around.  I can’t do much more but continue to market it, look for Churches who want to screen it, and hope for the best!  Lets hope this film is a heavy boulder on a steep incline!  Even if it’s not, this has been fun to watch.

Please, PLEASE if you haven’t read this note yet…please follow the instructions on here for Facebook.  I really need your help.  None of this continues to progress without you.
